Bride, Borrow or Steal

I am getting married on New Years Eve this year.  The ceremony and reception are secured.  The Celebrant is lined up.  The invitations are in the process.  Now it's the fun part.  Looking for the perfect dress.

Let me ask you this.  How do you feel about wearing another bride's dress?

What if I told you that it was a designer dress, worn very briefly and you would only have to pay a fraction of the price?  Something tells me I am slowly convincing you.

PreOwned Wedding Dresses was founded by Josie Daga in 2004.  The hardship of attempting to sell her own wedding gown prompted her to create this fabulous service.

Vera Wang, Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Priscilla of Boston, Givenchy, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren are just some of the designers available from this website.

The dresses are either new (with tags still on), samples or used.  Some of the dresses are on this website simply because the bride changed her mind.  The dresses are advertised with all the information you need.  Purchased price.  Selling price.  Alterations made.  Preservation method.  Whether the bride has the original receipt and certificate of authentication.

Let me give you an example:

This is a Vera Wang dress.  It's a strapless sweetheart tissue organza and french tulle mermaid gown with asymmetrically draped bodice - and cut organza blossom hem.

Worn in May 2012.  The bride paid $5775 (CAD) and is asking for $3000 (CAD)

The bride has had the dress professionally cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists.  She also has the receipt and authentication certificate. 

What's not to like?  I would consider it myself if (...ahem...) it was a little larger.
